Amani Women Center in partnership with City of Clarkston and Dekalb County Board of Health presented a Minority Youth Violence Prevention (MYVP) workshop on Saturday March 12, 2016 from 10 am to 2pm. The workshop was geared toward Bhutanese youth and was conducted by Alternatives to Violence Prevention (AVP) facilitators.
Ms. Doris Mukangu, President of Amani Women Center was intimately involved in the planning process with community leaders and facilitators to ensure that culturally and linguistically sensitive methods were employed to ensure effectiveness of the program.
More workshops to cater to the different ethnic communities represented in Clarkston have been scheduled in the next few months.
