Role AWC & ASA is playing to address COVID-19
Producing masks that can be supplied to hospitals, nursing homes, and the community at large as preventive tools- In these uncertain times, we have an emergency fund to support the basic needs of refugee women and their families. They are able to sew medical masks from their homes to help support frontline medical providers.
Providing information to the refugee community that is credible and this is in alignment with reputable resources notably Georgia Department of Health and CDC.
Provide credible information to the refugee community in languages that they can understand.
Provide credible information that is digestible to a community that has linguistic and literacy challenges through social media platforms.
Amani Sewing Academy aims to fill workforce gaps in the refugee community of Clarkston by training and helping refugee women become self sufficient!
